About Vertigo

Vertigo is a standard 'reach the exit' platformer with over 80 levels and plenty of challenges for added replay value. As well as basic controls such as moving and jumping, you have the ability to switch your center of gravity, your ability to use this mechanic is challenged more and more as you advance through the Worlds in the hope of eventually finding Home.

Each of the 8 Worlds contain 10 levels, 5 of which are set in day-time while the other 5 are set at night. At first you're challenged to simply reach the very end of each World, if you feel that you are exceptional at the game then you may attempt to fully beat the Worlds by doing all of the following:
  • Completing the World Without Dying.
  • Collecting all of the Coins Within a World.
  • Achieving a Gold+ Time Medal.
  • Achieving a Gold+ Switch Medal.

After completing all 8 Worlds, by returning to each of the 7 previous Worlds you will be able to collect a Trophy. Collecting all Trophies will unlock 2 new Worlds - Which are much harder than the current ones. Their positions are as follows (always on Level 10):
  • Apprentice Forest: Behind the Coin Counter.
  • Mt. Tundra: Middle of the level, must be reached without dying to access.
  • Autumn Plain: Top-right corner, must collect all coins in the World to access.
  • Inferno Dome: Near the end of the level, 5 gems are scattered around the World at this point, they must all be collected in order to access the Trophy.
  • Desolate Fields: At the beginning of the level, must collect all coins in the World to access.
  • Nostalgia City: Beside the exit, becomes unaccessible if the powerup for that World is used.
  • Fantasia Shore: Top-right corner, becomes unaccessible if the powerup for that World is used.
  • Llama Land: Obtained automatically by beating the World.

Advanced Mode Adjustments

Another bonus for completing the game is Advanced Mode, this can be enabled in the Options menu and will make the levels much more challenging, with more medals to be earned seperately for this mode, only the medals in this mode are worth double!
